Imphal, June 29 2010:
A vocational training centre for women infected and affected by the HIV/AIDS of Bishnupur district was opened today at the office of the Bishnupur Network of Positive People (BNPP+), Bishnupur.
MLA Govindas Konthoujam graced as chief guest of the inauguration of the centre which was constructed with the funding from his local area development fund.
Adhayaksha of the Bishnupur Zilla Parishad, Ksh Shorojoni presided over the function.
During the function monetary assistants to three member of the BNPP+ under the family benefit scheme were also handed over by the dignitaries present in the function.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, MLA Govindas exhorted that the training centre opened today be the beginning for imparting training to the HIV/AIDS infected and affected people for generation of the self employments to them.
Stressing the need for adopting work culture in the society, the chief guest further urged the gathering to apply "work more talk less culture" in the society keeping in mind that action is rather important than thinking.
Chief Medical Officer of Bishnupur District Hospital, A Ritichandramohon and chairperson of the Bishnupur Municipal Council, Y Bidyapati also attended the function as guests of honour.
