Troops of 31 Assam Rifles apprehended three women with a cache of bombs and ammunition during checking on a Tata Sumo at Khudengthabi on Indo-Myanmar section of NH-39 .
The troops intercepted the Tata Sumo carrying huge warlike stores hidden in refined oil tin containing 13 Chinese grenades with fuses, 5 small Chinese grenades with fuses, 2 lathode bombs and 6 MA 02 rifles grenades.
The three women identified as Njangnou (40) daughter of Thangkhen, Chingu (39) daughter of Thangkhen and Kimpy (17) daughter of Thangkhen, all residents of Churachandpur district were handed over to Moreh Police Station today, informed a statement of the PRO HQ IG AR (South).
Three Myanmarese national travelling in a Maruti van without proper documents was also intercepted by the troops of 29 AR at Sita road junction today at about 3 am.
They were identified as Soophi (21) son of Noor Bosur, Asadullah (18) son of Sorat Ali and Rafique (18) son of Akim.
They were from Rowangsur, Arkant district of Myanmar, the statement said adding that they have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station.
