Imphal, December 04 2010:
Deputy Labour Commissioner, Government of Manipur, E Tomba through a statement today asked the shop owners of the state to close their shops once in a week.
It may be mentioned that every shop owner is required to observe the provisions for closing shop on one day in each week under section 10(1) of the Manipur Shops and Establishments Act, 1972.Non observance of the provision is an offence punishable by court under section 25 of the Act.
The order came when some shop owners at Thangal Bazar, Khoyathong Bazar, Paona Bazar, Masjid Road, Keishampat Bazar, Nagamapal Bazar, MG Avenue, Dry Fish Bazar (Ngari Gali), New Market and Shoping Centres are found opening their shops throughout the week.
