A 21-day national workshop on Manuscriptology and Paleography, organised by the Manipur State Achieve Manuscript Research Centre and National in collaboration with Mission for Manuscript began here today.
Director of Mission for Manuscript, Prof Dipti S Tripathi graced the inaugural function of the workshop held at the hall of the Manipur State Achieve at Keishampat, Imphal.
Padmashree award winner, Rk Jhaljit presided over the function.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, Tripathi asserted that aged old scripts and written documents kept preserve by forefathers are the treasure house of knowledge.
Many important information need to know by today's generation were found in the age old scripts.
Majority of communities residing in the country has their own written history.
They have different costumes and traditions.
To unite these diverse forms of cultures and tradition is bounden duties of each and every citizen of the country, he added.
