A national workshop on 'manuscrip-tology and palaeography' has commenced from today at Manipur State Archives, Keishampat with Director of National Mission for Manuscripts, Ministry of culture, Prof Dipti S Tripathi inaugurating the workshop as the chief guest.
Padmashree RK Jhaljit Singh was the functional president while Director (Art & Culture) Dr Kh Sorojini Devi delivered the welcome address.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof Dipti reminded that manuscripts plays an important role in every human society as it reflect the value and level of a society's knowledge.
knowledge leads one to happiness, contentment and paves the path for a better place to live in, she expressed and emphasised on the need to expand knowledge base whose foundation had been laid by the forefathers.
She also noted Manipur's history filled with rich cultural and traditional heritage and called upon all to contribute their mite in only nourishing the existing ethos but to promote peace and tranquillity in the State.
