Driver, handyman abducted for ransom in Kohima

Imphal, July 31 2014:
Suspected militants reportedly abducted a driver and a handyman of an Imphal-bound cement-loaded truck in Kohima area in Nagaland just after midnight of July 25 .
The kidnapped driver and handyman have been identified as Langoljam Radhamohon, 30, son of L Khelendro, a resident of Wangjing Lamding Chirapur in Thoubal dist and Khumanthem Sanjeet, 22, son of Kh Binoy of Wangoo Mamang Sabal Nongyaikhong which also falls under Thoubal dist.
Sources said the truck was heading towards Imphal from Guawahti after loading cement when the abduction took place at Pfima.
According to sources, the kidnappers talked to the duo's families after the abduction.
The kidnappers asked the families to give a ransom amount of Rs 60 lakh which they had already demanded from the owner of Gupta Cement, a dealer in Imphal.
However, after the demand made, the families have not been able to contact the kidnappers for the last three days as they have kept their phones on switch-off mode.
According to the families, the abductors identified themselves as militants belonging to a faction of the NSCN-K.The families appealed to the kidnappers for safe release of the two victims, who are from poor economic background, on humanitarian ground.
