Bengal monitor lizard released

Imphal, July 31 2014:
People for Animal (PFA) was informed that a displaced Bengal Monitor lizard was found at a paddy field of Lamshang Lairenkabi on July 30 last.
One Leitanthem Ingobi found it when he was working at his field.
He fed it with egg and meat.
He handed over the animal to PFA.
PFA informed the concern wildlife officials and released the animal at the Langol reserved forest on the same day along with staffs of BO Iroisemba.
Later, at the evening, PFA was informed that another Bengal Monitor lizard was found near the house of one Takhelambam Raghumani of Thiyam Konjin.
The lizard got injuries probably from long pointed objects.
The injured lizard was handed over to Chanam Ranjana, Member Chanam santrok gram panchayat, ward no.1 who in turn handed over the lizard to PFA.
It is under treatment at PFA shelter, conveyed a press release.
