Religion based classification is a wrong concept, says Chief Minister O Ibobi

Chief Minister, O Ibobi took strong exception to differentiation of people based on the basis of religion.
He termed it a wrong concept.
Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of a tribal girls hostel at MBC campus, Chingmeirong, the Chief Minister said that the philosophy of all religions is the same.
Every religion teaches love and harmony.
He appealed to the people to live in harmony with the ideology of co-existence and not to be biased by religion and creed.
Caste, creed, colour and religion should not interfare in the peaceful co-existence of people, he added.
The CM said that he will read the bible presented to him by the organizers today.
Reading the bible will motivate his ideas of right and wrong.
His government is determined to bring a balanced development in the hills and the valley.
Government is marking out the less developed areas in both the hill and valley areas and priority is being given to these backward areas in taking up developmental works, he said.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of construction for a 150 bed tribal hostel inside the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) Chingmeirong, Imphal which is going to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs five crores.
Centre has also agreed to the construction of 830 capacity hostels at Senapati district headquarters, Purul, Tadubi and Kangpokpi, Chandel district headquarters and Moreh.
These hostels will be constructed with funds from the central government.
State government had pressed for more hostels but clearance has been given for only these six hostels, he said.
Observing that setting up .
a tribal market at Old Lambulane is not apt as it is located far away from the Khuman Lampak Bus Terminus, the chief minister said that government is looking for a site close to the bus terminus to build a market specially for the hill people.
For the convenience of people coming from Chandel side, government is considering building another tribal market at Canchipur.
Tribal Development minister, DD Thaisii who presided the function, said that the hostel is to be constructed with cent per cent funding from the central government in the alloted by the state government.
The construction work will be done by the tribal development department.
The completed hostel will be benefit tribal girl students studying in Imphal.
Special facility will be given to girl students, Thaisii said in his brief speech to the gathering.
Principal secretary (Tribal Development and Hills), LP Gonmei attended the function as guest of honour.
After the function, Chief Minister accompanied by minister Thaisii and principal secretary, LP Gonmei inspected the construction work of the ADC (Autonomous District Council) office at Paomei Colony, Sangakpham.
