NISC has demanded immediate and unconditional release of Anthony Shing.
head of foreign affairs of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, the Naga Peoples representative in the Peace Talks who was abducted in Kathmandu, Nepal and now in custody of the Government of India agents.
It has be confirmed that Anthony Shing, who after clearing immigration at Kathmandu airport then disappeared, reportedly has been apprehended by agents of the Government of India.
The Naga International Support Center along with numerous other human rights organization strongly protests against this abduction as it is not only a violation of the ceasefire between the Government of India and the Naga Peoples but also the action of the Government of Nepal which without a shadow of a doubt assisted the Indian agents.
Anthony Shing was on his way to Delhi via Kathmandu where he was scheduled to have meetings and to see friends.
The next day he was booked to go to Delhi and take part in the peace talks between the Government of India and the NSCN of Nagaland .
NISC criticizes the Government of Nepal for allowing the Government of India to apprehend Anthony Shing as it is a gross violation of Human Rights.
NISC condemns the snake like forked tongue behavior of the Government of India as it violated the Ceasefire while assuring the Naga Peoples time and again that it is sincere in expediting the talks to come to a mutually agreeable solution of this long overdue, 60 years, old conflict.
NISC calls on the International Community to raise this violation of Human Rights, Indigenous Rights and the violation of Ceasefire in each and every forum of the United Nations; the European Community and ASEAN.
