All Manipur United Club Organization (AMUCO) today extended monetary help to the victims of the June 18 uprising emphasizing the need of such help by the families.
The monetary help with gifts were given to the son of Laitonjam Rajkumar who scarified his life during the uprising of the people for the protection of the state territory, L Julson, daughter of Kshetrimayum Romeo, Goldi and Sobita Sorakhaibam who cut-off her leg after injuring in the uprising.
They were given Rs 5000 each in cash.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the AMUCO Yangso Shong Koireng said that families of victim of the day and those disfigure while taking part in the protest are living a life of woe and suffering.
If the government is sincere enough and has the true spirit of patriotism, they should extend at least some assistants to them.
He further observed that people of the state has been facing the challenge of breaking the territorial integrity from the day Manipur merged with the Indian union.
People have raised their voice against such move at many occasions as people are less confident with the government protecting the territorial integrity.
AMUCO considered that there is no other great thing than of sacrificing life for the motherland.
The body wanted to give the assistance to family of all victims but as there are some disadvantages on the part of the body, they are giving assistances only to these three families, he added.
Thounaojam Iboyaima who took part in the help distribution function observed that it would be wrong to bargain the life of people who scarified for the motherland.
They should be remembered sincerely and respect them.
Secretary LC Khuman of the body, families of the victims should not feel pity thinking that they are neglected.
Instead they should proud that the sacrifices made by them as strengthen the spirit of the people in protecting the territorial integrity.
