NPF to open unit in state

The move of the Naga People's Front (NPF) to expand its activities has got support from two seating legislators, three former MLAs and a former MP from the state as the meeting convened by NPF in Senapati district today resolved to open a unit of the party in Manipur.
The meeting of the NPF held at Naga Taphou community hall in Senapati district resolved to open a unit of the party in the state of Manipur with the objective of expanding its activities, particularly in Naga inhabitant areas, a report received here said.
The hour long meeting, started from 11.30 am and ended around 12.30 pm, and was attended by TR Zeliang, a minister of the DAN government in Nagaland who is also a member of the working committee of NPF.
Other working committee members of the party who attended the meeting were vice president of NPF Zaku, advocate Timikha Koza (member of Legal Cell), TN Mannen (member of Central Executive Committee) and Yanger Ao (Secretary).
Seating MLAs of Manipur Legislative Assembly, K Raina (independent), Dr Kashim Ruivah, and former MLAs, Gangmumei Kamei, Dr Horam, PS Henry Paotei and former MP BD Behring were among 100 people belonging to various Naga communities who attended the meeting, the report said.
The meeting moderated by T Robert Maram was opened with a prayer by AS Graceson, Marao, Pastor, PBC.
Dr K Anthony from Maram delivered the welcome address while Samuel Risom gave the introductory address.
Members talked on the activities of the party and also on matters related with expansion of its activities in Naga inhabited areas of NE Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
There was also an interaction session and the benediction was given by Rev Fr Seisou John, assistant parish priest of Don Bosco, Senapati.
Earlier, NPF members arrived around 10.30 am and went back to Nagaland after the meeting, the report added.
