Bomb found; wall breached

A Chinese hand grenade has been found at the Tera Tongbram Leikai residential compound of Thokchom Lokeshwor, who is the Superintending Engineering of IFCD.
The explosive device spotted at around 9.30 am today has been subsequently retrieved by a team of Imphal West district police.
Meanwhile, some iron rods implanted in the RCC pillars of a school boundary wall have been reportedly stolen on February 20 night as per complain lodged by founder secretary of Iboton Modern School, Top siphai at Wangoi police station, under Imphal West district.
According to the complainant about 100 feet long area of the boundary wall of the School, having nursery to Class X, was found breached and the iron rods plucked out.
It is informed that as the school was closed after completion of the annual examination, the chowkidar took leave and such a situation might have been taken advantage of by the unidentified looters.
The secretary also appealed to the locals to remain vigil and ensure that sanctity of the educational institute is not defiled again.
