As a part of the Make in Manipur project, which is aimed at generating jobs for the unemployed youth of the State, the State Government is planning to strengthen the Manipur Food Industry Corporation Limited along with employing the necessary staff needed for the purpose.
According to an official source, the State Government is planning to provide jobs to over 12,000 youths in the current financial year under the Make in Manipur project.
It pointed out that the matter of recruiting staff for the Manipur Food Industry Corporation Limited cropped up as it will also play a big role in determining the success of the venture.
The issue had already been discussed in a board meeting of the corporation chaired by the corporation's chairman as well as Commerce and Industries Minister Th Biswajit Singh which was held last month.
The meeting had resolved to appoint some staff on contract basis.
The source conveyed that the 12 employees appointed on contract basis will also include a consultant and two project supervisors.
