The Deputy Secretary of CPI, Comrade Sudhakar has set the commemoration month rolling by lighting the light today.
Dr M Nara said the contributions of Lamyanba Irabot in protecting and preserving the integrity of the state were worth noting.
He had raised stiff opposition to the then government's plan of breaking the integrity of the state.
He said that a police OC lost his life while the protestors led by Irabot confronted him during the movement.
He was then outlawed.
Dr Nara said whole of September has been observed as commemorative month of Lamyanba Irabot as all important events in the life of Irabot happened in September.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI Deputy Secretary, Comrade Sudhakar said Irabot is a name worth remembering in the entire North East.
He had struggled for the liberty of the depressed class of the society.
He said the communists want to do away with capitalism.
Sudhakar charged the UPA Government at the Centre as anti-people.
He said instead of framing a five-year plan, the government implemented the 100 days programme.
The UPA government's assurance for the implementation of 33% women reservation, not to hike the price of commodities, and to give assistance to farmers are a far cry now.
Noting the increasing numbers of insurgents in region, he urged the people to tackle the matter with the Left and Democratic parities.
Comrade P Parijat said CPI is a big revolutionary party.
He said it is also a party which advocates for remedial measures to any issue.
He said there has been no instance of the party resorting to bribery.
Saying that there is law of the land, Parijat preached that everything should be dealt with according to law.
Accordingly, a judicial inquiry has been instituted on the present turmoil in the state.
Parijat said nobody can be punished without trial.
