Along with damaging their houses by the villagers, members of five families who converted to Catholic from Protestant have been forcefully expelled from their village.
The incident took place at S Laho (Leingangching) village under Litan Police Station at around 2 pm today.
S Laho is located just beyond the police station and along the National Highway 150 .
The five families reportedly converted to Catholicism in 2008 .

When The Sangai Express rushed in to cull information about the incident, the maddened villagers of S Laho refused entry to the village.
The approach road of the village was also blocked by the Meira Paibis who threatened that there is no need for the press and the vehicle tyres would be inflated if it did not move away.
The belongings of the five families were found being thrown along the road side.
The members of the five families who have been chased out from their home and hearth are currently taking shelter in the house of Catechist Sebastian Kosung at Litan.
Talking to this reporter, they said that their houses have been attacked by the villagers without any provocation and warning and were forcefully chased out from the village.
The villagers also tried to extract their signatures on papers in connection with their properties thrown along the road side.
But they refused.
Pointing out that there is no restriction in embracing any religion, they also said that they would ensure the damages caused to their houses are compensated.
Informing that an FIR would be registered in connection with the incident, OC of Litan Police Station said that the situation is being monitored as it is feared that the tension running high in S Laho may be aggravated if the security personnel go there.
The members of the five families have expressed unhappiness over the response of the police when contacted in connection with the today's incident.
