Imphal, October 21:
Taking into account of the various development programmes being taken up by the SPF Government led by Congress, people ought to extend full cooperation to ensure that the SPF Government lasts its full term, asserted MPCC vice-president AK Mirabai.
Addressing a youth political convention organised by the Patsoi Block Youth Congress Committee at Heinoupok today, AK Mirabai who is also chairperson of Manipur Women's Development Corporation said that the various development programmes executed and being taken up by the SPF Government including development of transport infrastructure in hill districts are something which other political parties never did when they were in power.
Considering its various development programmes being implemented and other welfare schemes already planned and conceived, people ought to support the SPF Government further, she asserted.
Even as his chances are very remote, RJD MLA Hellaludin is dreaming of a ministerial berth in the existing Council of Ministers, she remarked while clarifying that the present SPF Government will last its full tenure.
She was apparently reacting to the claim of Hellaludin that the SPF Government led by Chief Minister O Ibobi will collapse within this year.
Giving key-note address of the convention, MPYCC general secretary (administration) W Shyamjai said that the convention was organised with the objective to strengthen Congress party and to ensure absolute majority for Congress in the parliamentary elections.
Alleging that the MPYCC president was ill-treated by Lok Sabha MP for his request to help in organising and strengthening the party, MPYCC vice-president L Chandrakumar decried the incident.
Stating that the party will search for youths during election time, he said that the higher authority will be apprised of the incident.
The convention was attended by numerous party leaders, representatives and members.
