SSC declares 4700 reserved vacancies in CPMF for NE youths

Staff Selection Commission (SSC), having its nodal office in Assam for the entire North East region (NER), has been entrusted with the responsibility of recruitment of around 55,000 constables in six Central Para Military Forces (CPMFs), which include CRPF, BSF, ITBP, Assam Rifles and two others under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
While one form would be sufficient to sit for all the six examinations, a candidate planning to sit for all examinations will need to take separate forms for Assam Rifle sand ITBP.
Hence, once would need to collect to three forms.
In case not applying for Assam Rifles and ITBP, one general form will be sufficient.
The applicants will first undergo physical fitness test and then get to sit for written examination, if they mange to get selected in physical test.
There are also state reservations for the States of North East.
In total, there are over 4700 vacancies reserved for the applicants from North East, wherein 316 are reserved for Meghalaya, 100 for Arunachal Pradesh, 217 for Manipur, 329 for Mizoram, 229 for Nagaland, 459 for Tripura, and 3063 vacancies for Assam.
Besides, there is also relaxation in height for the people from the hilly states.
Apart from this, there is no minimum height requirement for the women.
And, they too have additional reserved vacancies.
Even after providing so much of relaxations and having reserved vacancies for the youths of North East, it was learnt that the number of applicants from this part of the nation is generally very little.
In 2009-10, over 18 lakh applications were received from across the nation while from the Assam Office received only 64,371 from the entire NE region.
Again in 2010 � 11, only 60,075 applications were received while the all India count of applications stood over 26 lakhs.
Officials are unable to comprehend the reason behind the educated unemployed youths here not applying for these competitive exams, especially at a point where with the commission of Sixth Pay Commission, the remuneration have become very lucrative.
Youths from other youths are filing up vacancies meant for the NE youths, it was added.
SSC has nine regional offices all over the nation.
It has been established by the Government of India for recruitment of Group � B non � Gazetted and Group � C staff for various central government departments and Ministries.
