Staff and SHG members of IWCDC performed skit play and presented songs enthralling the family members of drug users at the Shelter Home of Recovering Addicts located at Lei-Ingkhol today.
The event was facilitated by IWCDC, Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai as part of its curtain raiser programme to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2007 which is to be observed world-wide under the theme of �Do drugs control your life ? Your life.

No place for drugs� on coming June 26.The skit and the songs carried the message of how abuse of drugs caused problem in the family and what is to be done on the part of the family if any of its members were found to have been addicted to drugs and other harmful pharmaceutical substances.
The curtain raiser programme of the IWCDC was formally launched on June 19 at Chingmeirong Community Hall and would continue till June 24.Various programmes specifically designed to target different groups of people would be organised in association with members of the community in the run up to the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
In continuation of the programme, IWCDC would join hands with recovering peers in spreading the message of a drug free society at Yengkhoiba Bazar tomorrow among the recovering addicts.
On June 23, similar programme would be launched at Lilashing Khongnang-khong High School for the students of the school, on June 23 at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and on June 24 at Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai.
