Imphal, January 20: Governor Dr SS sidhu conveying his heartfelt greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Zeliangrong community on the auspicious occasion of Gaan-Ngai said the festival provides an opportunity to all the people to come together cutting across the barriers of caste, creed and religion and work for the shared goal of ensuring peace and harmony in the society.

In celebrating a festival, the edifice of oneness gets strengthened and this bond of oneness is the need of the hour, said the message adding �in Manipur, people belonging to various ethnic groups have been living in harmony from time immemorial and peaceful co-existence is a glorious tradition of the people of Manipur�.

The Governor, saying that he will be joining the people in the celebration of Gaan-Ngai also expressed confidence of every community contributing their mite in preserving the enviable tradition of peaceful co-existence.
