Imphal, January 20: The proscribed RPF has claimed responsibility for the attack on the BSF personnel at Churachandpur yesterday in which an ASI of the BSF was killed.

In a statement, the outfit said that the attack was launched by only four cadres of the PLA using only four pistols.

RPF also clarified that its men were forced to open fire at the police team as their escape route was being blocked and added that it regrets the deaths and injuries caused to the policemen and the civilian.

The outfit also appealed to the police not to intervene when Central forces are being attacked to prevent future recurrence.
