Imphal, January 20: Governor Arvind Dave has greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Manipur's Statehood Day which is being celebrated tomorrow.

In his message, Dave said that thirty-two years ago on January 21, 1972, Manipur attained its Statehood and the day, besides fulfilling a long cherished desire of the people of Manipur, gave an added responsibility as well as an opportunity to the people to shape their own destiny.

No one can deny the fact that the State is lagging behind other States of the country as far as overall development is concerned and hence, there is the need to catch up on lost opportunities and hasten the progress of growth and development in the State, he said.
