Imphal, December 03: Keishampat Leimajam Leikai public today staged sit-in-protest against the gunning down of Yumlembam Gitchandra on Nov 25 by unidentified gunmen at near Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai.

Under the joint auspices of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai Women Welfare Association and Youth Rising Club a large number of women folks and youths highlighted their strong condemnation at Tiddim Line from around 10 am till four in the evening.

Placards and banners denouncing ceaseless bloody conflict, killing of innocent persons, call for sensibility etc were put up at the protest site.

Secretary of the women body Thokchom Chandrasakhi demanding clarification for killing Gitchandra informed mediapersons that the residents would agitate till armed groups, if any, involved in the murder spells out reason for committing the crime.
