Imphal, July 05:
Communist Party of India (Marxist), Manipur State Committee has sought the intervention of Prime Minister of India to end the ongoing indefinite blockade imposed by All Naga Students' Association of Manipur since June 19 midnight, in view of problems faced by the people of the State.
In a representation submitted to the Prime Minister, party secretary Y Mohendra pointed out that due to imposition of the blockade, essential commodities procured from outside Manipur are not available in the markets while the hoarders, taking advantage of the situation started hiking prices of essential commodities leaving the people to suffer artificial food scarcity and face price rise.
