Imphal, July 05:
A team of All Manipur Petroleum Tankers Drivers' Union headed by its president Y Bhupenchandra Ghosh, which has gone to look after the problems faced by the drivers stranded there following the indefinite economic blockade, reportedly arrived at Khatkhati this evening.
According to information conveyed by Bhupenchandra, there are more than 200 vehicles including around 100 oil tankers currently languishing at Khatkhati in Assams karbi Anglong district.
Besides the problems like lack of adequate food provisions and safe drinking water, the difficulties being faced by the drivers and their assistants have been further compounded because of absence of proper latrines in this rainy season, he said.
He also appealed to the Government for making arrangement for escorting the stranded vehicles at the earliest possible time.
