Imphal, February 27:
Senapati District Legal Services Authority in association with Willong Village Welfare Association and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati organised a one-day legal literacy and legal aid awareness camp/programme at Willong village in Senapati yesterday.
Chairman of Willong village K Hingba inaugurated the camp as chief guest.
It is for the first time that such a legal awareness programme was held in the village which is situated 130 kms from Imphal.
Many people from the surrounding villages like Pundulung, Kamlung, Willong Khunou, etc also took part in the programme.
Many legal experts delivered speeches on various legal aspects which are required to be known by the people during the programme held at Willong village ground.
Senior Lecturer of LMS Law College, Imphal Dr Ch Narendra Singh spoke on the topic of Right to Information Act, 2005 at the occasion.
District Youth co-ordinator of NYK, Senapati Laxman spoke on the need of legal knowledge among the youngsters.
