Cabinet to discuss Paona bazar killing

Imphal, February 27: The Cabinet is set to discuss whether to institute a Judicial inquiry or a Magisterial inquiry into the killing of Md Abdul Hakim by Imphal West police commandos on February 25 at Paona bazar.

Chief Minister O Ibobi today assured the JAC formed to protest the killing that the matter would first be discussed by the Cabinet during a meeting today.

The JAC has already imposed an indefinite bandh from yesterday.

The chairman of the JAC Amjad Khan however informed reporters that since a concrete settlement has not been arrived at, the bandh will continue.
