Imphal, December 02: Citizens' Club, Soibam Leikai and Lenlai Club, CCpur registered contrasting wins to qualify for the final round of the 48th CC Meet football tournament being played at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In the first match today, Citizens downed Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi 7-5 via the tie breaker while Lenlai thrashed Imrosca of Pallel 4-0 in the second league match of the day with Saikhohao Tuboi and Helun Haokip scoring hattricts for the winning sides.

Dominating their rival in all departments of the game, the Cccpur outfit opened their score with Helun's first goal in the 23rd minute off a Lalpaul Thomte pass with the same scorer increasing the tally one minute later.

Helun achieved his personal feat in the 59th minute before P Lalboi completed the Imrosca humiliation with a 74th minute strike.

Earlier, in a keenly contest first match, Saikhohao Tuboi provided the breakthrough for the Soibam Leikai side in the 13th minute as Thangbi's header in the 37th restored parity for Sadar Hills setting the tone for the exciting tie in normal period.

Even as Saikhohao regained the Citizens lead in the 67th minute Paominthang of Sadar Hills took the fight to the opponent camp with the equaliser in the 73rd before Lancha headed in the third Sadar Hills goal four minutes later to seize the initiatives and secure his side's place in the final round.

However, Saikhohao had other idea coming to Citizens' rescue with his third goal of the match.

During the penalty shoot-out, N Deven, A Premjit, M Romi and H Doren converted for the Soibam Leikai side as only Paominthang and Thangtinsei succeeded for Sadar Hills as Citizens' custodian L Manichandra palmed away Kamgomang's attempt and Seigoumang failed to direct his shot.
