Imphal, December 02:
To help speed up the projects undertaken under the Centre's Macro Management Mode of , Agriculture Scheme and furnish necessary utilisation Certificate within December, a committee was constituted today with Agriculture Minister Ph Parijat as the chairman in a meeting held at the conference hall of the Old Secretariat.
Sources said that the decision to constitute the committee was taken as their was a huge possibility that the Centre may discontinue providing funds under the Macro Management Mode of Agriculture scheme (MMMAS) due to the delay in implementation the projects in the State.
Mention may be made here that the Union Agriculture Ministry had sanctioned Rs 700 crores of which Rs 18.50 lakhs would be allotted to the State Land Use Board while Rs 58.33 lakhs, Rs 221.67 lakhs and Rs 401.40 lakhs would be provided to Corporation, Horticulture and Agriculture Dept respectively.
Even though funds provided to the Agriculture and Horticulture have been fully utilised the State Land Use Board and Corporation have not been able to fully utilise the funds provided, said the source adding that all the four dept have to simultaneously submit the utilisation certificate to get the approval from the Centre.
