Cutting across political barriers and ideologies, many politicians and political parties have mourned the death of veteran politician and former Chief Minister RK Ranbir Singh.
Rajya Sabha MP and former Chief Minister Rishang Keishing said 'death of RK Ranbir Singh is a great loss for Manipur'.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family, Keishing recalled the political career of Ranbir as a true Congressman and his faith in the ideology and philosophy of the Indian National Congress.
The services rendered by Ranbir to the Congress party and the party mouthpieces Simanta Patrika can never be forgotten, Keishing said.
Sharing the grief of the family members, Lok Sabha MP T Meinya said RK Ranbir was an amiable leader and in his death Manipur has lost a worthy son.
In his condolence message, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Md Maniruddin Shaikh said Ranbir was a great politician, parliamentarian, patriot and good administrator and in his death, the people of Manipur have lost an able son.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Gaikhangam described Ranbir as a seasoned politician, an able administrator and a noted Parliamentarian.
The gap caused by his death will never be filled up, he lamented.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh condoled the sad demise of Ranbir by observing two minutes silence as mark of respect to the departed soul during a condolence meeting held at the conference hall of the party office here today.
Party leaders like Thokchom Yumjao Singh, Meinam Bhorot Singh, Col (Retd) H Bhuban Singh, Prof Mohindro Singh, etc, who spoke at the occasion recalled the contribution made by Ranbir for the development of the State during his life time.
Communist Party of India (CPI) Manipur State Council; Manipur People�s Party (MPP); Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Manipur; Janata Dal Secular, Manipur, Samajwadi Party, Manipur Pradesh, Manipur Sanskrit Parishad, etc have also condoled the death of Ranbir.
