Imphal, January 28: Maria Montessori's Nydia Takhellambam, Sonia Thiyam and Krishna Th wrested the top three positions in the Group-I (Std I to IV) painting competition held at GM Hall on Jan 23 in connection with the Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight-2006 organised by Imphal Divisional Office of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

RK Rochelle of the same institute bagged the consolation prize in the said group.

In Group-II (Std V-IX) L Kherju of Maria Montessori, Mutum Sudesh of JNV-Khumbong and Ritu Konsam of Maria Montessori have been declared as winners of first, second and third prizes respectively with JNV, Khumbong's Sanabam Vikram, Longjam Kiran and Laishram James adjudged consolation prize winners in the painting competition.

JNV, Khumbong made a clean sweep of the top three positions as well as three consolation prizes in Group-III (Std IX to XII) competition in which the top place was secured L dhanashyam followed by Jason Ngangom and Thangminlal Haokip in respective order.The consolation winners are Vimbishwar Oinam, Kh Gopeshwar Singh and Ch Krishna Anan.

The Khumbong institute also triumphed in the quiz competition with Khaidem Gopeshwar and his two other colleagues occupying the top slot as Vimbhiswar Oinam along with his three partners settling for the position while Laishram James Singh led team consisting of three students secured third position.
