The state Senior women's football team who won the 1st All India Women's Prem Dorjee Memorial Cup, 2009, Gangtok and sub-junior girls' team who won the 6th Sub-Junior Girls' National Football Championship, 2009, Halwani, Uttarkhand have been felicitated today in a function held at the resident of L Dinamani, Treasurer, AMFA at Lourembam Leikai Lairembi Maning, Imphal.
The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) organised the felicitation function.
Arambam Santoshkumar, President, AMFA graced the function as chief guest.
In his speech, Santoshkumar gave the credit of the grand success to the hard work of the players and their dedication in the field.
Players should work hard for more and more success.
In this connection, AMFA will extend its cooperation to the players whenever and wherever needed.
Secretary, AMFA, L Ranjit Roy said that AMFA will award a sum of Rs 10,000 each to the players and officials who have won the 1st Dr T Ao Memorial Trophy.
The above amount will be given from the prize money which the state team won by winning the championship.
The remaining amount will be utilise for the development of football in the state.
He further said that the decision of AMFA to honour the players and officials with the cash award was taken up keeping in view of their hard efforts in winning the championship.
The state team who won the 1st Dr T Ao Memorial Trophy will be felicitate in a function which is to be held at the resident of A Santoshkumar at Sagolband Ingudum Leirak on November 24 next at 10 am in the morning.
State senior women players and officials who participate in the 1st All India Senior Women's Prem Dorjee Memorial Football Championship, 2009 were honoured with a cash prize of Rs 500 each.
