State eve to get berth in AIFF council

Imphal, January 06: All Manipur Football Association president Arambam Santoshkumar firmly stated that a woman from Manipur will be first ever female member of the All India Football Federation Executive Council.

Without divulging further details on the identity or current position of the prospective candidate in the AIFF council, Santoshkumar created more suspense saying the football governing body of the country would make a formal announcement on the nomination very soon.

He was speaking on the occasion of reception of Manipur football team that won the recently held 2nd Under-17 Girls National Football Tournament at Dindigul of Tamil Nadu.

The president attributed certain inclusion of the Manipuri woman in the AIFF as recognition of achievement of women football team of the State.
