L Meidingu Meitei of III IRB emerged as the fastest man of the 15th Inter-District/Battalion/Unit Manipur Police Sports Meet 2004 when he clinched the 100 metre race with a timing of 11.68 seconds.
M Ranjit (11.70 secs) of II IRB and Th Suranjoy (11.87) of III IRB finished second and third respectively.
On the third day of the five day competition finals of various athletic events were held at Khuman Lampak Main stadium.
Meidingu also team-med up with S Somananda, Th Tomba and Paolilung to fetch 4x100 metre relay gold for III IRB stopping the clock at 47.92 secs.
II IRB quartet of M Ranjit, Md Rahimuddin, L Ratan and N Ibosana took the second spot with 48.41 secs as N Deshkumar, N Dhaneshwor, Ch Trillo and P Abybung of III IRB had to be content with the third position.
The high jump gold went to Th Dilip of 6th MR who scaled the bar at 1.65 metres as L Meidingu Meitei took the silver with 1.62 and H Kirankumar of Manipur Police Radio (MPR) the third position at 1.62 mtrs.
With a leap of 6.21 metres, S Somananda of III IRB wrested the long jump title as L Brojen (5.86) of PHQ and Paolinlung (5.75) of III IRB occupied the second and third spots respectively.
The 200 meter final was won by Th Suranjoy of III IRB clocking 23.68 seconds followed by N Deshkumar (24.09) of 5th MR and M Ranjit (24.22) of II IRB in the second and third positions respectively.
In league matches of football competition being played at the Khuman Lampak Main stadium, 8th MR blanked 1st MR 2-0; 6th MR routed SP-CCpur 3-0; MPR defeated SP- Senapati 2-0; III IRB outplayed 7th MR 4-1; while II IRB got walk over as SP-Bishnupur team failed to show up.
At DMC campus Indoor stadium where table tennis competitions were held P Bila and M Dilipkumar of PHQ entered the 50 plus doubles final and will meet M Sushilkumar and Meghachandra of MPTS while Ksh Manihar (SP-IW) will slug out for the 45+ men�s final against Nengsem Angam of II IRB.
S Manglemjao and Angam of II IRB won the 45+ doubles beating 5th MR duo of Th Akhuba and Th Juge.
