CM inspects Maphou Dam

Imphal, January 06: Chief Minister O Ibobi along with IFCD Minister Phungzathang Tonsing today visited Maphou Dam and inspected the construction works taken up at the dam site.

Expressing deep dissatisfaction and discontentment over the slow progress of the construction work taken up at the dam site, the Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the officials concerned to speed up the work and make the benefits of the dam available to the rural people within the shortest possible time.

It may be noted here that Maphou Dam which is currently being built across the Thoubal River under the Thoubal Multi Purpose Project is 1074 mts long and 55 mts high.

As a part of the project a barrage would also be constructed at Keithelmanbi.
