Imphal, August 30 2010:
Students of Lilong Haoreibi College has started class boycott agitation in protest against the transfer of two lecturers from the college.
The students also staged a sit-in-protest at college campus today.
Apart from lack of infrastructure, the college has been facing the problem of shortage of teachers, said a press release.
It added that despite all these problems, the Government has recently transferred Physics and Botany lecturers from the college.
Demanding immediate revocation of the transfer order or sending of teachers, the students union warned that different forms of agitation including blocking of NH-39 would be launched if the demand is not fulfilled.
