The Red Shield Peace Camp organised by 27 Sector Assam Rifles has concluded at Aina today.
Students from Young Learners School, Rengkai Government High School, Happy Heart School, St Mary's School, JM English Medium School and St Xavier's School took part in the camp conducted under the aegis of Red Shield Division.
The camp was flagged off by 27 Sector Assam Rifles Commander Brig Sureodra Mehta on June 13 last.
According to a press release of PRO P1B (DW), the camp was jointly requested by community leaders in a seminar organised by the Sector on May 12. Trekking, group exercise, motivational movie screening, equipment display, tent pitching exercise, first aid tips, essay writing, painting, sketching, skit competition, and collage making were the main activities The camp concluded " with a camp tire today.
Principals of respective schools and civil dignitaries took part in the closing ceremony.
The camp offered an excellent opportunity for the children of different communities to interact with each other and help promote peace and harmony at the grass root level, said the press release.
