Taking serious note of reports of adulteration of essential items, the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Department has issued a strong warning stating that punitive action will be taken up in case petrol pumps and LPG agencies are found indulging in adulteration of POL products.
An order issued today by the Commissioner (CAF&PD) said all petrol pumps and LPG agencies in Manipur dispensing POL products including LPG through IOC, NRL, BPCL etc are hereby strongly warned not to indulge in any adulteration of POL products or black marketeering of POL products failing which very strong penal actions will be imposed'.
The penalties will include permanent closure of the enlisted agencies.
