Imphal, January 08:
Consequent upon the indefinite economic blockade being imposed by ATSUM along the National highways, oil tankers of the State are being stranded at Kharkati.
Besides more than 50 oil tankers now stranded at Kharkati, empty oil tankers are also unable to leave Imphal to bring in oil.
Consequent upon the non-arrival of oil tankers, most of the oil pumps have closed down causing severe hardships to people.
Even as the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) depot has 20 days stock of oil at present, the IOC is refusing to provide oil to oil pumps.
Moreover, the State Government has not made any arrangement to supply oil on ration, informed a reliable source.
Even as some oil pumps provided diesel today, price of petrol has shot up to Rs 60 per litre at Imphal.
