NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region has urged all the Zeliangrong villages to 'clear' their villages from those kidnappers who had abducted two kids from Senapati on December 14 and submit the reports to the Zeliangrong Union (ZU) by January 15.NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region in a statement issued by its information and publicity secretary stated that the village authorities of the Zeliangrong villages should find out thoroughly that the kidnappers do not hide and take shelter in their respective village jurisdiction and give the reports to the ZU.
NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region is issuing this directive so that no bad name is earned by the Zeliangrong community, said the statement.
NSCN-K also blamed the rival NSCN-IM for all the bad names brought in the Zeliangrong community.
It said that in the much hype Elizabeth Lungnila case, the NSCN-IM arrested James, the main culprit in the case but the result of the investigation with James in the NSCN-IM custody is still not known even today.
The NSCN-K accused the rival faction of having involved in the Elizabeth Lungnila murder case.
Factional clash(Kohima: There have been reports of both the NSCN factions exchanging gun fire at Shungru and Imbung near Athibung in Peren district of Nagaland today.
Reports said that at around 9 am today armed cadres of both the NSCN-IM and the NSCN-K clashed for about two hours at Shungru while at Imbung it lasted for about an hour.
Sources in both the NSCN-IM and NSCN-K said that one was killed and another injured but to which the deceased and the injured belonged could not be ascertained.
Further reports said that the tension is building up fastly in the area today and it may escalate to wider battle.
Till the filing of this story detail news is awaited.
This is the first major NSCN factional clash this year otherwise, there has been relaxation of the clashes during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Series of gunbattles had been engaged between the NSCN-K and the NSCN-IM cadres but became quiet just before the Christmas.
Tuensang, Mon, Zunheboto, Phek, Peren and Kohima districts in Nagaland are the worst affected regions with regard to the NSCN factional fighting while in Manipur it has been the Tamenglong district.
