Imphal, October 02:
Asserting that it is against the basic principle of any democratic State to detain an individual without any cognisable evidence, RSP has asked the State Government to refrain from such undemocratic acts and demanded immediate release of Leitanthem Umakanta without any condition now in police custody.
A statement issued by Central and State Secretariat member of RSP, Manoj Bhatacharya noted that Umakanta is being detained without any proof whatsoever that he was associated with anti-State activities.
