Union DoNER and Tribal Affairs Minister PR Kyndiah arrived at Imphal today in his three visit to the State.
On his arrival Kyndiah called on the Governor Dr SS Sidhu and later he held a meeting with Chief Minister O Ibobi during which they talked about myriad subjects including the development projects being taken up in the State, the law and order situation and other political issues.
After the DoNER Minister went to Congress Bhavan where he met MPCC president Gaikhangam and other top office bearers.
Here, the Chief Minister was also present.
At Congress Bhavan a special meeting was held at the chamber of MPCC president for about an hour with Rajya Sabha MP Rishang Keishing.
It is reported that only the top office bearers of MPCC were allowed to attend the meeting.
According to highly placed source who also attended the meeting, the primary objective of the Union Minister was to inspect various projects and schemes being undertaken in the State under DoNER Ministry.
Besides the undergoing projects, the meeting proposed and urged to take up new projects under DoNER for connection of all district head quarters to each other by all-weather roads, disclosed the source adding memoranda have been prepared to affect construction of the proposed roads.
The meeting also made brief deliberations on the prevailing law and order situation in the State and the forthcoming assembly elections.
The Union Minister would visit Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Churachandpur district Hqs where he would interact with public leaders and Government officials on development projects, informed the source.
PR Kyndiah would be accompanied by Chief Minister O Ibobi, IFCD Minister Phungzathang Tonsing, PHED Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Lok Sabha MP Manicheranamei and MPCC president Gaikhangam in his tour of district headquarters tomorrow.
