Unfeigned form of traditional tribal dances, many of them performed by elders who had practically perform during their hay days showcase an exquisite tango at Singngat, one of the four sub-divisional headquarters in the district.
The event labelled One Day Indigenous Tribes Cultural Festival was hosted by Kuki Students's Organisation (KSO) Singngat Block on Saturday at Singngat Thadou Veng.
Among others, T Hangkhanpau, former Cabinet Minister, Kammuanlal Simte SDO/BDO Singngat and CO of 9th Assam Rifles attended the cultural festival which showcases at least nine traditional dances of various tribes inhibiting the region.
Speaking on the occasion, T Hangkhanpau, who was also the chief guest talk at length how their elected representative had disregarded their grievances.
In an indirect reference to the coming election due next year, he however promises to reverse the trend if the people bestow to him the chance to do so.
Singngat has been adopted by the Army as one of its model border village, yet the local administration seems to have a little dealt with as its SDO seldom attending his office and the elected representative visiting his constituency just once since the election.
