Imphal, October 02:
Governor Dr SS Sidhu has expressed dissatisfaction over the existing arrangement for waste disposal in Imphal city on the occasion of the National Cleanliness Day observance function organised by the State Government at GM Hall here today.
The National Cleanliness Day is being observed all over the nation today in commemoration of the birth anniversary of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking as chief guest of the function, Dr Sidhu noted that the existing waste disposal arrangement of the Government in the Imphal city is far from satisfactory.
In order to bring about some improvement, the Government should keep it as a priority, the Governor said, adding that if the present arrangement is not serving the purpose then the Government should think over some other alternative method.
The Governor said the state of cleanliness which we endeavour to provide during the observance of National Cleanliness Day needs to be maintained always and everywhere.
Keeping the premises and surroundings clean during the observance of National Cleanliness Day is not enough.

Even if there is discrimination among the people, the human soul does not, he said.
