Imphal, April 13:
All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) has condemned the arrest of its president Yensembam Sanjoy by Assam Rifles on the night of April 4 and demanded his immediate release.
In a statement, general secretary of the Committee Ch Francish Singh strongly reacted to the claim of the Assam Rifles that Sanjoy is an activist of the PREPAK and asserted he does not have any connection with any underground organisations.
In fact, he is responsible civilian who has been working to save the lives of many youngsters from abusing drugs and other intoxicants, the statement added.
Lamboikhongnangkhong Apunba Nupi Lup has also appealed for the safe and immediate release of Sanjoy.
