Imphal, April 13:
Looking back at its past since its foundation on April 14, 1980, the Central Committee of the Kangleipak Communist Party while greeting the people on its 27th foundation day, has looked back on its history, which has seen its ups and downs.
A statement issued by the Central Committee of the outfit today recalled its founding leaders and listed them as Ng Babu Meitei (Founder President), Maipak Sharma (Founder Gen Secy), Somchandra Sharma (Fin Secy), K Binoy (Foreign Secy), Angou Meitei (Founder Org Secy), Kh Leisabi (Army chief), Y Ibohanbi (Dy Army chief), Ibopishak Meitei (Founder member), B Shamungou (Founder member), N Basanta (Founder member), Yaima Meitei (Founder member), S Sanatomba (Founder member), Basanta Meitei (Founder member), Innakhunba Meitei (Founder member), M Achou Meitei (Founder member), K Borkumar Meitei (Founder member), Y Joy Meitei (Founder member), L Ibocha Meitei (Founder member), Ph Manihar Meitei (Founder member), L Yaima Meitei (Founder member) and Ng Sharatkumar Meitei (Founder member).
Acknowledging the contributions of the pioneer, the outfit said that despite this, the KCP has not been able to make much progress and admitted to the ups and lows it has faced since its long existence.
One primary factor for this is because of the flip flop stand of the comrades, who unite at one point of time and at the same time go against each other, said the statement.
Unity and then split has been the bane of the KCP, said the outfit and added that this added to the inability to move forward in the revolutionary movement.
Adding to the problem was the fact that a number of prominent members of the outfit supped with the enemy and used the name of the KCp for their personal ends.
(To be contd).
