Buddhists' Council, Manipur has submitted a memorandum to Minister of Development of North Eastern Region KR Kyndiah pressing for a five-point demands.
The demands include awarding of Maulana Azad Education Foundation Scholarship to the Buddhist students, earmarking Rs 3 lakhs annually as fund for Buddhist pilgrimages of Manipur State to the holy places such as Bodh Gaya and other holy places, allocation of fund for construction of monastery with Pegoda, Buddha statue school, dharmashala, medication centre, museum and unmartial arts centre; providing opportunities to avail advantages and benefits and inclusion of one Buddhist Council members each in Manipur State Minority Commission and Minorities and other Backward Classes Economic Society, Manipur.
