Observing that due to absence of a full time chairman and a secretary, the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur has been crippled severely since last year and disclosing that the Board has been unable to print about 80 text books of different classes till date, the Manipur Second-ary Education Board Employees Union has launched cease work stir in pursuit of their demand for full time chairman and secretary.
A statement issued by the Union conveyed apprehension that the Board might be unable to publish text books for the next academic session.
Moreover, the Board is yet to print books for Sarva Shiksha.
While the work load has increased many fold, the strength of the employees remain unchanged.
Moreover, the controller of examinations who is already busy with his own duty has been overburdened with the additional charge of secretary, it observed.
It reiterated its appeal to appoint a full time chairman of the Board and a secretary.
