Samuk (Tucha) Village Authority, Senapati district has drawn the attention of the authority concerned for taking up development of the village road as a special case.
In a statement, Village authority chairman Th Namwangkhonang lamented that the Government has been isolating the village from any developmental work for a long time.
The nearest polling station of the villagers is located some 40 kms away.
The villagers have to go on foot crossing three villages which belong to Tamenglong district to reach the nearest polling station to cast their vote every year, the chairman said, and urged the Government for taking up necessary measures to improve to the condition of the road before the upcoming election so as the villagers could participate in the democratic process of electing their representatives.
