Imphal, September 28:
After liquor and several tobacco products have been banned by different UG groups, the Anti-Drug And Alcohol Campaign Committee constituted by UNLF, KYKL and PREPAK seized a large quantity of Zarda packets, khaini and Indian made foreign liquor from Nambol area.
The seized items were handed over to Meira Paibis of Phoijing Chingning who later consigned them to flames.
The destroyed items included 138 packets of Zarda weighing 50 grams each, 114 Zarda packets of 10 grams, 223 pouches of 6 grams, two pieces of khaini and two half bottles of rum.
As the seller was a minor, he was set free after counselling.
