While coming out strongly against the threat of HNA to serve quit notice on the Meitei community living in Churachandpur if the State Government does not meet its demands, various women bodies of the district have appealed to the outfit to withdraw the same.
A joint declaration issued after a joint meeting of these women's organisations at Churachandpur today categorically stated that the Hmar outfit and the Government should bear the responsibilities of any untoward incidents that might arise out of the quit notice threat.
The joint declaration signed by president of Hmar Women Association JL Sawmi, finance secretary of Zomi Mothers' Association Neilam, chairperson of MPC (Women's Wing) Florence VL Nunmoii, president of Kuki Women's Union Heshi Haokip and president of Ima Leimarel Apunba Lup K Ngangbi Devi further announced that all the women organisations/organisations will stand together if any consequences arise thereafter.
Meanwhile, in another statement, secretary of Ima Leimarel Apunba Lup Sanasam Mukta Leima demanded HNA should stop monetary demand from the people in connection with the quit notice and not cause any sort of hardship to the common people.
Any armed outfits operating in Churachandpur district should also not disturb the existing cordial relationship among various ethnic groups of the district, the statement further said.
